FIRST PAYDAY NEWSFLASH!

It's the 31st of July year 2013 today and I finally received my first official salary. haha! I just thought about sharing it. It has been a month since I started working for Vans and honestly I am still walking on my toes. Hopefully, i'd be able to fully grasp all the ins and outs of my work soon. Anyway, nothing really special about this post. I am very much elated and was quite excited about receiving the fruits of my labor but all that got replaced in a snap when I checked my facebook account and found myself being tagged on this photo:

hahah! yeah! This is what really made my day. Thanks to my awesome friend who made this possible. I hope you know that you made the fan girl in me tear up with one eye because of pure bliss and kilig. hahah! I take back what I said this blog is now supremely special. LOL! :) #Julielmo #ElmoMagalona #JulieAnneSanJose

P.S.  I hope I could blog more and update this space as much as I can.
Dear self, I know your work eats time but you should never forget to go out there and do awesome stuff with your life.

Oh You Women!

Here's a post about three women that I admire very much. They are not just your typical pretty face. They have gorgeous brains that I couldn't get enough of. So yeah, I couldn't stop myself from crushing over their brilliance. (Huhu, wish I was more like them/ I will be like them. SOMEDAY! SOMEDAY!)

Rashida Jones:

(Oh di ba, Ang ganda ng ganda niya!!!)

She is on the TV series "Parks and Recreation" which I will be watching soon because my friends recommended it ( and also all for Rashida love). I have seen her on a couple of movies but it was when she starred on the movie "Celeste and Jesse Forever" that I really took notice of her. The movie was so good, it was damn realistic and very relatable. As of now, I think I've watched it 5 times already and the first two times was on the same day (hahah! Oo na! bet ko tlga yung movie eh plus leading man niya dun si Andy Samberg eh sobrang crush ko ung mokong na yun). If you haven't seen it yet, YOU SHOULD!!!

(may copy ako nito dala ka usb share ko sayo. haha!)

After watching the movie I started researching about it. It's kinda my thing to search more about a movie when I really like it. So I came across the information that RASHIDA JONES CO-WROTE IT with Will McCormack. Why you so awesome Rashida!!! Then I discovered that even though both her parents were famous personalities (Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton ---Hindi ko sila kilala, hindi ko era) she didn't took advantage of that she even said this "Look, I have parents who have accomplished so much. I have a father who came from nothing and conquered the world. The last thing I'm going to do is sit here and spend his money and try to look pretty. That's not interesting to me at all."  which made me admire her even more. I knew that she's an actress but what I didn't know initially is that she graduated from Harvard, that she is a comic book author, screenwriter, an occasional singer; as if her speaking voice isn't sexy enough and that she recently added directing on her resume when she directed the music video Brave by Sarah Bareilles (the next woman on this post)

Sarah Bareilles:

(bata pa lang ata ako crush ko na siya eh)

She made you sing and dance over her first single "Love Song" I remember watching its music video repeatedly because it was so cute, fit for a kid like me (kahit hindi ko na maintindihan lyrics basta cute yung nakikita ko sa screen. cartoon lng? haha!). She empowered you with songs like Uncharted, King of Anything, Gonna Get Over You and the recently released Brave. Then she made you sob and feel the pain with Gravity and Breathe Again. I have to admit Gravity is a big part of my "F*ck this love--it hurts so bad--what the hell is wrong with me days" haha! then every time I have a friend who's sad about their ex-situation I'd be like "You go listen to Gravity by Sarah B". hahah!
There was this performance on the show "So you think you can dance" and the song used was Gravity and since I'm such a sucker for contemporary dance routines it was my go to video when I'm sad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhI4CpAH8wM (Feel na feel ko tlga yung dance pati yung song, bawat vein sa katawan ko nagrereact. haha!) So what I'm really trying to say here is that this woman wrote/sang/played the piano so you can have remarkable songs to listen to and expressive lyrics to tweet about.

Zoe Kazan:

(don't look at her eyes or else you'll fall deeply in love)

Honestly, I don't know much about her. All I know is my friend gave me a copy of the movie "Ruby Sparks" and she portrayed Ruby so well. This movie is so wicked---it had a refreshing approach on how our imagination works and the real/unreal kind of love story (WICKED CONCEPT). Again, if you haven't watched it YOU SHOULD!!! Go get your lazy ass going!!! get a copy of this movie, eat some chips while you watch cause if not then you're letting a shiny gem pass your vision.

("If you can imagine it. It's real")

So I did my thing again I researched about the movie and to my surprise Ruby wrote Ruby. The movie Ruby Sparks was actually written by Zoe Kazan who played the role of ruby. Zoe Kazan's brain should be preserved in a museum someday. :) Also, Paul Dano is her real life boyfriend.

***It fascinates me to know that they are writers whether it's a song, a screenplay or a book it gives you a sneak peek of what's going on inside their brain and says a lot about the kind of person they are. Women who can speak their mind and I can't help but think that someday they'll be married to some guy whom I'll say is a lucky b@st@rd that scored the jackpot.

Wall-Art

To explain my random art trips in life...(feeling artist/artistic kasi ako minsan)
I saw this photo in instagram and got inspired by it while I was staring at the bare wall in our room (Yeah, I sleep with my sister). Since it's the sem-break and I have nothing much to do but to see the world and create something out of myself (not literally). I decided to put my scissors, tapes, colored boards out, print some photographs and vandalize a wall. Our room may not have the best interior and those stylish furniture but I love that it is where I feel safe, free, at ease with myself and inspired. Territorial creature over here! haha! :)

Saved a part of my allowance to have these photographs printed out and I am planning to have more of them done but I need cash first. Kinikilig talaga ako pagnakakakita ako ng pictures. :">

while I was doing the letters for the "Live.Laugh.Love" thing...

I used colored corrugated boards, my left-hand, a pencil then had it cut-out. this is the hardest part--- not messing up.

And for the result...*drum roll plss...
tenenenenene...

It is pretty much made out of double-sided tape, idea, inspiration, confidence and time to do it. :)

More photos and random stuff to stick on that wall. :) It was worth it cause I get to stare not on the blank wall anymore but on what I have created. :D Thanks to that instagram photo that gave me the idea, not sorry for copying it. Like what my art.app prof taught us "In the post-modernist art everything is pastiche nothing is really original". Everything is out there all we have to do is turn it into our own, stamp it with our personal imprint.

This State of Falling is a Struggle

I told you I fancy words. I believe in their magic.
I promised myself that I will never stop writing until I am out of words and feelings are gone.
Though maybe I suck on it but still it's just something I want to do. It makes me feel at ease cause I am in my own world. :)

*used my signature stamp. yeah that's my name brought to you by my ugly handwriting. :)

Signs

I'm not good with saying what I feel and think. So most of the time I end up writing short rhymes. This is just one of them. :)

A poem by Manny and Me

Since I was bored during our 6-9 class I decided to play and write a poem with my blockmate all he had to do was rhyme with whatever I wrote down. :) Here's the photo of our draft. :)
Me:
Manny:
Close your eyes
and feel my thighs.
Squeeze in closer
so I can feel your rooster.
Now i'm out of my mind
because your love I can't find.
Are we doing it right?
Can you fly my kite?
Take me higher until I am out of sight
and let me be blinded by your light.
This feeling I can't fight.
Your apple I want to bite.
Tempted like Eve.
You're taken from my rib.
Don't you think that's bullshit?

---THE END---
btw, that's Manny he did my hair that day. *claps for his messy work. :)

Bad Habits.Good times.

"That maybe after all of these are gone everyone we resent will vanish into thin air. Then we'll be thankful cause this night happened for these are the good times our bad habits saved us."

The Sad Story

Hear me say a story of a real tale.
Once upon a time,
While they’re chasing rainbows
She was here chasing flames,
Wishing the world would care.
She was here watching
Her world turn its back on her,
again and again.

But there’s no one to blame
Cause every word she claims
Makes them cry in pain
When every step she takes,
leaves a trail of mistake.

Someone wake sleeping beauty up
Her world ain’t real.
Stop her from believing this
fake fairy tale dream.

Random Nights

I believe that unplanned trips are most likely to happen. I had nothing to do on a Sunday night so a friend of mine randomly asked me to go for a drive. Since I am always go when I feel like going. hahah! Leggo! By the way this is just one of my super late post regarding my life cause this trip happened a few months ago pa.

Oh well, we went down south. (Nuvali, Sta.Rosa)
Meet the "Oh so random friend" Charles. :)
"pose daw siya"                                             "kain daw siya"
"walk daw siya"

"there's nothing like the empty streets at night time"
"best in angle"
"it's my ang pogi ko pose"

 Time to eat:
 yes nomon feel na feel...:)
"Lovin' them vanilla mochiszzz..."
"while playing at timezone like kids"

 "Strolling the empty streets"
"free your spirit"---doing some long jumpin'

"breaking the rules"
"bliss caused by experiencing life randomly"
"a random night with the random kids"

Dare of Love

We were young, we were wild
busy playing our foolish game.
We didn’t know anything about love
and what it seemed.
But we felt it along the way
and it was real, so real.
Though we were scared
to admit what was meant.

It doesn’t matter how many times
we break these hearts of ours.
How many times we’ve rolled the dice.
Because it’s going to be you and me
in the end of this twisted journey.

And now here we are
baby this is fate.
Hold my hand and kiss me.
Don’t let go.
While we burry all that we fear,
inside this flowing concrete.
 And fulfil our dreams
of everlasting bliss.

Just another Monday

You know how it is like, when you sleep late and is obliged to wake up early the next day. Well, that is how things went off.  It’s Monday today and frankly out of all the days it is the least favoured. Alarm starts buzzing like an annoying child crying. You open your eyes and realized that everyone’s gone and all that’s left is you and your throbbing head. Slowly, you pick yourself up; walked down the stairs half-awake. Turned the microwave on and placed a mug of water on heat so you can have your breakfast. Minutes later you are all set to go to school, to accomplish everything you need done and over. It is windy and slightly raining outside. Not a good thing for your “lack of sleep” disease.

On your way to the north, you watch scenes by the window of the bus you were on while listening to “feel good” music that you hope would help you get through this day. Things in school briefly happened, all in a blur. You are somehow glad that Monday is almost over. To celebrate, you asked a friend to go outside and get a smoke or two. Now relaxed and contemplating while inhaling consequently exhaling substances from a prohibited stick.

You walked along the streets to get a ride going to the bus station. Took your umbrella out because water from the heavens are starting to pour. Finding a ride was easy; you sat in the front seat of this cab. Starting to feel that slight high you get when you smoke. Little by little your head starts to throb again and your soul almost wanting to throw up. Traffic was just as bad as you expected but Monday was not done with you yet. You held yourself up leaning your head by the window of the car and on your most noxious moment , you see “him” with someone else to be sure you took another glance and just like a movie everything was in slow motion. You were saddened not because you still love him but because you were wrong on that idea that you still did. Saddened because you were afraid that you’re not going to feel that same kind of metaphor for someone again; that as of today you are incapable of love.

Hours passed and you managed to catch some sleep on your way home. Feeling a little better now, your mom greets you and suddenly starts talking about this “sad news” which you thought was the perfect recipe to end your Monday. Tired and irritated, you walked up the stairs went inside your room and hugged your pillow tightly. Just like that, you are back from where you started; asleep and hopeful that Monday did not happen.

------THE END-----
